Carnegie Mellon SIFE hosts a broad range of projects aimed to better our community

YWCA Entrepreneurship

YWCA Entrepreneurship seeks to help underprivileged women start their own businesses to enrich the community. We do so by assisting them through each class session during an entrepreneurship course offered by the YWCA Center. These women learn the technical, managerial, accounting, marketing and other business skills necessary to run their businesses successfully. Finally as a semester-long project, our student members advice and revise the business plan that these women developed. Our project strives to enrich the society from the bottom up by assisting women to start and maintain their businesses. We educate those lacking the skills and provide the opportunity for them to succeed. Our goal is to maintain as many feasible businesses as possible.
