The Nicaragua Project
The project plans to send seven to eight students to Sutiaba, Nicaragua, to work to provide a better business framework for Nicaraguan farmers. There is a strong need in Sutiaba to improve the infrastructure of the agricultural economy. A major goal of the project is to create or improve a water system in a Sutiaba neighborhood that may not have running water. At the same time, the project is planning to build fences for rural family farms, teach families basic personal finance skills, and work with farmers to develop effective business plans. The project leaders are also working on a proposal to build a homeless shelter.
