Carnegie Mellon SIFE hosts a broad range of projects aimed to better our community

Immigrant Outreach

The Immigrant Outreach Project aims to ease the transition process for new immigrant families in the Pittsburgh area and help them in different ways to adapt to their new environment. In the past, Immigrant Outreach has worked with families from countries including Turkey, Russia, and Somalia with issues ranging from visa problems to ESL classes to health care forms. In the past, the project has helped a women from the Caribbean find a part-time job, a Russian family resolve their immigration documentation, and a single mother from Africa find childcare. The project aims to continue to spread cross-cultural communication and understanding.
